So we made it to california!!! Anyone who was doubting us was clearly underestimating us.. We have a billion pictures including polaroids..

Weve had so much fun and I know we'll be talking about the random jokes for forever.. Weve decided that were obnoxious, elitest, new yorkers, and insane.. We get more wired as the day goes on and we pity all of the people that have had to deal with us past 10pm.. My ipods been on since the second we left so wed like to thank mr soda pop curtis for taking care of us.. Also anyone that's left us blog comments, read it, sent us texts, emails, called, voicemails.. Whatever.. It was awesome..

Weve taken up taking to other cars in t road.. When car is from a different state than were in we ask them where all their shit is and if they'll take some of ours.. Then we tend to ask people from california if they'll just let us hitch onto them and bring us to where we need to go.. No one answers back, obviously, so we just answer for them..

We also try to figure out what the cloud are shaped like.. I think I use my imagination a little bi more than kim does.. I keep seeing kangaroos (another word not in my phone already), shoes, cars.. It goes on..

Yesterday in new mexico I swear I saw a wawa.. It clearly wasn't a wawa but goddamn did I wish it was..

Weve seen more of the south than we may have wanted.. But thank god were in del taco land.. I woud like a veggie works kthanks.. Its been over a year.. The only thing missing from what I see as my california is now john.. Who is back in new york.. But when I get back to new york the one thing I'll be missing is my kim.. Even trade, yes.. More sadness? Definitely.. At least for the past few months I've had both of them even when johns on tour.. Now I'm down to the one :(

I'm sure therell be a few more entries before I go home.. But this might be the last one from the car..

We passed bakersfield.. Oh how everyone know how I LOVE that city.. The only good thing about that place was that the loved ones/paint it black/shook ones tour ended up there.. Besides that, no thanks!!!

Earlier we were in santa fe.. We took some sktchy ass road to get here.. We could have taken 25 but then I get the bright idea to take 285 because why? It says santa fe on the sign.. So the second we get on this road we do the "uhhh...... Is this the right way?" kinda thing.. We were on that for about 40-50 minutes.. That's what we estimated at least. We didn't start paying attention until a little while in when we realized wed been there a while.

Eventually we start seeing signs for santa fe.. Fast forward a little while, we get the book out and look for a hotel.. We find one.. That's not the funny part.. The funny part is that we get to the hotel and were looking for parking.. That's any normal task for someone that isn't us.. BUT since it IS us..

We finally find a spot that isn't in rapeville and park.. We walk in, all I bring in is my wallet.. We walk past the pool and see 2 people swimming and 1 on the lounge chair.. For some reason this was hilarious to us and e were laughing uncontroably.. We managed to gather ourselves and get inside to get a room.. We bought in a few of our things and dropped em.. We sat down for a few minutes to get settled.. And then we went back for the rest.. As we ere walking out of the room I said "you have the keys right?" kim took that as do you have the room key.. Went in and grabbed the other card.. We walked out, walked the to car and she goes "you have the car keys right?" I was like uhhh.. NO! And she pulled her room key card out.. This is when the laughing starts again.. So hard that I actually sat down in the middle of the parking lot crying because I was laughing.. I finally got up, we walked back inside and got the car keys.. Were pretty sure the guy at the front desk wasn't as amused by us as we were..

So today we went to santa fe to go shopping.. We love santa fe.. So much fun.. We ended up there a lot longer than we though we would have been.. We made friends with a woman in the first shop we went to, which as it happened was the last one we went to too.. She ended up giving me thid necklace that I liked because I'm going to have to restring it anyway.. I also finally got a new shell necklace to replace the one from when I was 5 that I broke a few years ago..

Now were on 40... Again... Its really clear out ad we can see for forever..

Kim wanted me to write about what she forgot from oklahoma city.. In the movie theatre they had a simpsons couch where you could sit down with them.. Of course we did.. I blogged while I sat there :) we took pictures.. It was awesome..

Ok so we are now in new mexico and wendi feels that is news enough for a blog. As far as i'm concerned anything is better than oklahoma city-not that there's anything wrng with okc it just doesn't like me diving there much. I blame okc for my near meltdown last night, but that's all in the past now. Today started off with me trying to decipher if a napkin was intended to be used as a napkin or a makeshift coffee filter- turned out to be just a napkin- the coffee came in its own self contained pouch. The movie:knocked up helped fix the crapiness of last night as well. And wendi and I didn't get lost gettibg to this movie theatre so that was a huge extra bonus. However, of course there's a however you didn't think wendi and I pulled it off without a single hitch did you?! Once we got to the theatre without getting lost we could not find the entrance and resorted to going through the exit.
Some things you may not know about movie theatres in okc it costs four dollars to see a movie, if you look like wendi or me they'll ask to check your I'd for r movies, also a side note the quail spring amc theatre is very nice in case you ever find yourself in oklahoma city wondering which movie theatre to go to. The reason I feel obliged to share that it was a nice and relatively sophisticated theatre is because while we were standing on line wendi asked if ithought they had one of those credi card ticket kiosks and my response was ''wendi, we're in oklahoma city!'' but on to my texas story. So we stopped toget gas in texas and then noticed this plastic horse so after getting gas and taking ridiculous pictures we get back to the car and this guy walking to his car starts talking out loud about new york abd as he gets closer asks if we are really from new york us saying we were didn't seem to please this man and then he proceeded to inform us that he had a girlfriend who was an rn in new york but was from jersey. He then asked if we hated texas and then asked if we hated bush in which I respectfully replied :"no comment". He then inquired if I was going to vote for clinton and upon hearing that I hate her and would never vote for her I magically became less evil and he wished us a safe trip and offered the following directions to get to san diego "take 40 and then make a left"

I forgot a huge detail in the last blog!!! The rain!!!!

We hit an insane amount of rain in arkansas and then slightly less in oklahoma.. We watched a car from arkansas pull over while we were still there and decided that its probably a good idea to follow in their tracks.. We stayed on the side of 40 for about 10 minutes.. The rain let up and we wated th line of cars that did the same pull back on.. So we decided it was ok to do it also.. Then in oklahoma we had rain that wasn't as bad, but not too far off.. We didn't have to pull off but we were behind someone else was going crazy slow so we stuck behind them with our hazards on.. Then of course 10 minutes later it was perfect weather again..

Adventure for today? Going to see knocked up in oklahoma city... Our excursion from last night did not repeat itself... Now were headed off to santa fe..

so.. were in oklahoma and we finally have wireless.. i love this hotel.. haha not only did we get the last room BUT! the bible was already open and on our night table for easy access!

while driving through before we saw segregated cows.. no seriously.. were driving on rt 40 and to the right were the black cows and to the left were the white ones.. straight up racist! i wish icould have taken pictures but it was too fast..

i still love graceland.. and memphis..

its sad that the only reason i wish we were going through tulsa is to see the house from the outsiders.. which im sure probably isnt even there anymore since when they filmed that they cut a whole side off of it.. i was half hoping to reread the book on our way out here but ive been getting way too distracted every time ive even thought that i could start reading..

i have a billion pictures to show everyone but im not posting them until i can watermark em.. and im not watermarking them til i get home.. so if yuo care, youll have to wait :)

and now.. to watch fresh prince and go to sleep.. tomorrow - texas, new mexico, maybe arizona... and ill still miss memphis... and my puppy.. and my bed...

So.. Graceland.. I love it.. My basemant is about 3 steps away frombeing the jungle room.. All I need is carpet on the walls, mirrors on the ceiling and animal print couches.. So great.. They had a furry bed with a radio in the headboard.. PIMP!!!! So fancy! His pool room was ridiculous and had fabric all over the walls.. I'm down, I want to move in..

I wanted to get a new belt buckle there but I had no luck so I'll just stick with my old elvis one..

Arkansas sucks.. For the first time in all of the places I've driven pretty much ever, we had to stop and pee for me.. Bugs are gross.. Everything smells weird.. And back a while ago we sawa dead coyote on the side of the road.. Oh! And it was 103 degrees according to the car.. Gross..

Micele and joseph have decided that our southern names are carolina (kim) and augusta rae (me)... I told them I'm in..

There was a sign for some truck place called maverick's.. Aww.. It made me miss my puppy.. They loves themselves some jesus signs down here though.. I know that.. For like 20 miles I saw at least 12 of em..

This state is boring.. I don't like arkansas.. I think it requires a nap..

So.. Memphis.... We love it! My dad gave us a bunch of places to look at... Well.. Weve decided that this city is a times square type of city aka looks better at night..

So why do we love this city you ask? Bigfoot lodge! Aka our favorite restaurant! They have a burger called the sasquatch.. If you eat it all in 60 minutes, including the garnishes you get it free... What's the catch? Yeah its 4 pounds of meat, the hugest bun ever, a full pickle with a steak knife through it that goes through the whole thing, at least 10 pieces of lettuce, a full tomato, and a full red onion... How do we know? The kid at the tablenext to us got one! So I went over and I asked if I could take a picture.. He said sure.. He had already take the pickle out.. But it was still great.. All of his friends were loving that I asked too..

We got normal food and still brought half back with us.. Oh! And a deep fried pickle! They also had a huge bigfoot in the doorway which we took pictures with.. The host asked us if we were taking myspace pictures.. I told him what we were doing on our drive and he told us about some drunken roadtrip he took to nebraska..

Then we went back to beale street when it was finally dark.. Took a bunch of pictures.. Bought a few things, made a few single serving friends and headed back to the car to go get a hotel.. The heart break hotel doesn't have wireless! Its also double what we wanted to pay to be somewhere for 12 hours.. We headed towards the 55 and with our tightly packed car and a huge truck in the right lane.. We tried to get over but that didn't happen.. About 5 seconds later.. Arkansas welcomed us... And about 3 minutes later tennessee welcomed us back with open arms.. And so did the quality inn.. Unlike the econolodge last night, this hotels not gross..

We also went to sonic today.. We needed to get out of the car so we did the patio seating.. One waitress was on skates.. I would like a skating job.. I don't think itd be a good idea.. But whatever! I'd have fun still.. It was only raining on one side of the building... The other side, completely rain free..

Tomorrow were going to the graceland and the park where my dad did a sit in. I would hope hed have brought a lawn chair.. Or a blanket.. That's a whole lot of dirt to be attracted to clothes... I don't really like dirt..

Were in central time now..

Because were in tennessee and we will be for a while lets tell another wendi and kim story, shall we? Ok..

One time circa 2001 we decided we were in the mood to go watch matt play hockey.. We didn't know the exact location of this game but he gave us loose directions.. He told us all these streets and said get on "new highway".. Of course what did we say? "theres a new one now?"

We have this habit of not taking direction and making our own because e know where were going sometimes. We did it in jersey yesterday..

The night og new highway ridiculous.. We took the LIE to the road that we though we needed.. We clearly took a little too much initiative that night because we ended up at a 711.. Keep in mind 5 years later we know exactly where we were and where we should have been going.. But this time.. We went to the 711.. Here's how the conversation went with mr mans at the 711..

-Do you know how we can get to new highway?
-You need to get to the highway?
-No, the street name is new highway..
-What's that?
-The street that we need to get to.. Our friend said its by the movies..
-Are you going to the movies?
-What? No! We need to get to the street that's called new highway
-I don't know where that is..

Seeing as this was moving right along exactly the way we sould have wanted it, we gave up on him and walked out..

The best part about this is that we can't even remember if we went to the game that night...

I'm pretty sure that loses something in its translation, but the conversation was very similar to me fighting with the dsl people on the phone...

I think I need a nap.. I think I also might be getting a sinus infection..

Were in tennessee... The state line is literally in an intersection... Gas is $2.94 which is awesome.. And it only took $47 to fill the car..

I'm pretty sure that within about 3 minutes of saying I was going to sleep last night I was out.. I didn't even wake up to the first alarm on my phone. I woke up to kim taking a shower.. The house keeping woman at the hotel asked us if we were from there... That was kinda funny.. Her eyes lit up when we said we were from new york though.. She as if we flew down there.. Then when we said we were driving cross-country she was kinda shocked..

And for michele and marisa.. Theres an oklahoma person driving next to us..

So.. I can't get the wireless to work.. It connects and its so low that it keeps disconnecting me.. So pictures will have to wait..

An outlet just tried to kill me.. I plugged my phone charger in and got a shock in my whole hand that went across my whole chest into my other arm..

Were in bristol, virginia.. I'll let kim get to the fun of what got us here. But I had to inform the public of my near death experience...

Alrighty so after our first day I am exhausted. Thanks to everyone who kept us entertained during and throughout today's stretch of our journey. We got to where I was hoping we'd get to which makes me happy. Our mini side trip to lexington was nice enough. This part of va is very beautiful and very rural so it was interesting stumbling across a legit historical town that one of my professors talked about multiple times this semester because she went to William and lee.
The dinner we had in lexington- classic! We couldn't pass up eating at an establishment called country cookin. The food however wasn't as interesting as our experience in the parking lot which I simply deduce was the beginning of us lossing our minds suffice to say it involved laughing hysterically,not being able to find one of wendi's shoes for awhile and me wanting to ask an elderly couple from florida why they didn't have their car packed full of stuff. I was asleep a whole five minutes later and woke up two hours later-right outside of bristol. Tomorrow memphis! Nite!

Maryland just welcomed us... Something good better happen in this state.. I just wrote like 5 minutes ago in pennsylvania...

I'll tell a story of the friedship of wendi and kim instead.. Its called "when the gym teacher accused wendi of not knowing how to count higher than 3"

Back in the day (1997) when we were in gym together I broke my ankle.. Not in gym.. But you get it.. After I was allowed to go back to the class and I was healed (as we know, I heal faster than.. Something that heals fast..

We just entered west virginia! Maryland treated us well!!

Anyway! We were supposed to run laps around the gym but I was still all fucked up in the leg area so running wasn't an option.. He told me to walk four laps when they were running 8.. I sad ok.. So I walked my 4 and sat down.. Mr mans decided that I only walked 3.. I said no.. I walked 4... Kim testified that I did in fact walk my 4.. But he decided that we both don't know how to count higher than 3.. And he tld me to walk another one..

As uneventful as that sounds, that's probabaly one of the reasons weve stayed friends all these years.. That was a bonding moment.. We still laugh about it and roll our eyes at how ridiculous we think he is..

West virginia just tried to kill us by letting one of their residents operate a vehicle... No one knows how to merge in this state do they???

So were still in pa.. Were on 81 and we plan to be for a while..

For some reason some genius decided to build a cul-de-sac on the side of the highway... In the middle of nowhere.. Why would someone pick up one day and decide that they need to live not only in a modular house but on the side of a fucking highway.. Weve decided that ifwe lived there for some reason and we were having parties wed just tell people to pull over and walk down.. So much land and you need to have a dead end? I don't get this place...

Were living off cheez-its, twizzlers, blow pops, water, and juice boxes.. And by living I mean driving for 4 hours.. Ha..

Pennsylvania so far is nothing to write home about so that's why it gets a blog... Were in gods country right now... We passed a dairy before and I laughed..

Were in dead stop traffic because they're doing roadwork... The trucker driving next to us keeps staring at us.. Its far from any kind of friends we feel like making right now..

I've already done a sugar overdose by eating twizzlers.. I half want to puke but I'm pretty sure I'll keep it in..

Boring so far... Something needs to happen soon or else I'm gunna have to start making things up!!

Weve crossed into jersey.. The cars not as packed as it could have been.. My dad managed to make the laptop less fragile and we brought it with us..

I found a compartment in kims car to put all of our polaroids in.. Besides that, nothing eventful yet!!

Off to an awesome start.....

So I asked my dad if I could borrow their extra laptop... The reason its extra: its got an "appendage" as my dad calls it... The power cords broken.. And it doesn't have a battery..

Yeah so I wanted to get on before we left and make sure that it still had photoshop on it from the last time I borrowed it.. Well that clearly was the worst idea possibly forthis piece of machinery.. I moved it about 3 inches and now I can't get it to turn back on..

So the bloggings with the pictures... Probabaly not going to happen now.. I at least have my phone which I'm now using to post this.. Oh which I figured it work on the regular site.. Well.. No.. I honestly feel more comfortable knowing that we have AN internet source while were driving.. Its not the one that I realy wanted to rely on but its good enough for now..

Kims getting here around 11 and then we set sail via the road.. I guess not hving the laptop with me will be better.. It makes one less thing to leave behind.. Now I'm staring that this dead laptop with a 3 inch arm of electrical tape that will stay 3000 miles from where I thought itd end up before going back home..
